• Mars 1975 : L’édition du Guide du Routard vante la « Route des Indes » en stop de Paris à Istanbul (via les Balkans), Téhéran, Kaboul, Lahore (via la Khyber Pass), Amritsar, New Dehli.
• Septembre1975 : Rencontre de 2 Australiens ; Ian KUCHEL & Wendy ANDERSON dans le Triangle d’Or (Nord Thaïlande) reliant par route et mer Sydney à Londres en 4 mois, et retour en avion sur Sydney.
• De retour de Thaïlande fin septembre 75 le rêve s’installe : relier « un jour » Paris à Sydney en stop via la « Route des Indes »
• Octobre 1996 : 1° expédition à Madagascar de Antananarivo vers le Grand Sud par route et retour par air.
• Mai 2015 : 9° voyage à Madagascar. Les 7 précédents le seront pour raison essentiellement Humanitaire pour le compte de l’Association Marcq Madagascar www.marcqmadagascar.fr
• Madagascar est devenu mon pays de prédilection. La 10ème édition est pour .. 2016.
• 17/08/2015 : Sébastien Baer sponsorisé par France Info relie Paris à Athènes en stop en 1semaine et le 27/08/15 c’est le choc, l’émotion et le déclic. 
  Je vais relier Lille à Antananarivo par la méthode FRAM (Fer Route Air Mer).

Traversée terrestre entre l’Erythrée et l’Ethiopie dangereuse due à la présence de bandes armées. Traversée maritime de Port Saïd à Djibouti aléatoire, et propice à la possibilité d’attaques de pirates.

(**) Crossed land across Egypt, Northern Sudan dangerous due to the presence of Daesh area Sinai and overflow possible on the large area of Cairo. Land crossing between Eritrea and Ethiopia dangerous due to the presence of armed gangs. Sea crossing of Port Said Djibouti random, and conducive to the possibility of attacks by pirates.

(***) Crossed land between the South of Ethiopia and the North of Kenya formally discouraged, due to the possible incursion in border areas between these 2 countries of members of Al-Shabaab from Punt land nearby (e.g. Somalia).
